As many of you heard, Microsoft has released their new Windows 10 Operating System.

We have been actively testing Windows 10 Pre-Releases for several months. There are many improvements over previous versions of Windows and is much easier to navigate than Windows 8. However, we do not recommend right now that any of our business customers upgrade to Windows 10 at this time.

We are seeing and hearing of many problems trying to upgrade business type computers to Windows 10. Some of the problems involve programs that no longer work, drivers that are not compatible and networking issues.

There is a great deal of concern over the level of personal information that Windows 10 collects about the user, their activities and their data. It collects much more information than ever before, which could cause some issues for businesses that are subject to HIPPA, HUD or PCI compliance. I am sure that these issues will get worked out in the coming months, but right now I would not attempt to use Windows 10 in a business setting.

If you want to check out Windows 10, I recommend trying it at home and you probably will need some help if you have any unusual hardware or software installed.

Regardless of if you decide to upgrade or not, please pay attention to the information below about people that are scamming users.

This Windows 10 is an upgrade that you do not pay for, promises to fix problems with earlier versions, and claims to be more secure. They plan to upgrade a billion personal computers, causing inevitable confusion among PC users.

Bad guys are trying to exploit this confusion. You might get calls from scammers that claim to be Microsoft tech support and try to charge you for the upgrade using your credit card.

Be very careful with any email claiming to be from Microsoft about "your Windows 10 Upgrade". Make sure that any links in the email really go to Microsoft. Better yet, do not click on any link or open any attachment, but go to the Microsoft website for more information.
